We’re ready to build!

Now is the time for you and your friends to get involved. We need volunteers to help actually build the park. You don’t need to be a skilled laborer to help out. Everyone can help in one way or another.

Thanks to all the great folks who kept OurSpace safe last night as the rubber surfacing "cures"!! Anyone who volunteers a few hours from 5:30pm - 5:30am to help monitor the site, can be eligible for a gift certificate for The Belmar! Contact Ed Hickey for details!

Volunteers can station themselves at the two picnic tables on either side of the playground!

If all goes as planned, the orange fences can come down and we can open in 10 days! Thanks for lending your support. With your help the countdown to play can begin!

These great guys (aka the Georgia Boyz) have been hard at it for three days installing the surfacing, they've got three more to go! Let's show them how great our community can care and help protect our safety surfacing as it cures!

Feel free to hang out at the two picnic tables and keep watch!

How can you help? Volunteers are welcomed to help keep people OFF of the rubber surface while it cures!

From 6pm - 6am, you are welcome to come and sit at the two picnic tables on either side of the playground. (Board games and cards optional!) all we ask is that you help people understand that patience and caring is needed!

During the day, you are welcome to picnic at the park and help keep watch! The better we are at this the quicker we can safely open!

But please, if you are at the park and see anything, speak up!

Thank you!
Feel free to message us with any questions!

Please help us spread the word!

As much as we would all love to play, we need to let the surfacing "set" for a few more days. We expect the surfacing to take another 5-6 days.

PLEASE be patient and WAIT to visit inside the playground until the orange fence comes down! Walking on the surfacing will damage it.

It was a remarkable day today.

After a month of working with the crew from Broome Habitat for humanity, we enjoyed one last day finishing where we started- on the Treehouse. If you've never had the joy of working with these folks, please lend a hand on their next project. They've been great teachers, helpers, builders and friends! Please support them whenever you can!

Our dedicated parks crew will be onsite for a few more days tidying up and getting things set. If you see them out & about the Holiday weekend, thank them, they are truly wonderful.

And lastly to Matt, Fritz, Tom, Bob, Kevin, Jim, Laura & Dave (and many others!). You've been onsite everyday this far, it's been an honor and a privilege to work with you!

A very special thanks to the Lost Dog for catering one last lunch for our build Crew.

One last thanks in advance. As much as we would all love to play, we need to let the surfacing "set". PLEASE be patient to visit inside the playground until the orange fence comes down! Walking on the surfacing may damage it.

YOUR SUPPORT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Supporting OurSpace will not only give us the opportunity to complete our proposed project, but it will result in an increased awareness of needs in the community and provide an inclusive support to our youth and families of all abilities.
For individuals with disabilities, the park will open up new possibilities for physical fitness and activities. It will also serve as a place to unite and socialize. For children, it will provide an inclusive environment in which to play and interact with the world and each other.
The City of Binghamton and its surrounding communities (Southern Tier) will also benefit from being the only area in upstate New York with a park specifically developed for special needs individuals. It will serve as a sustainable landmark and significant accomplishment for the area. Furthermore, as an open, public space, OurSpace will be an inclusive environment for the entire community to enjoy.
